Privacy policy
This policy explains how Wi Inc (“Wi,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes personal information through the Wi website at getwi.app, the Wi application, and related services. Wi is an AI assistant for understanding your email, calendars, contacts, and documents, helping you decide what needs your attention, and carrying out tasks you authorize.
Wi is in development. The integrations and agent features described below are being developed and become available as their features are released. Visiting this website or joining the waitlist does not connect your Google Account. We request a permission only when its feature is available and you choose to enable it; describing an integration here does not authorize access to it.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide: your email address when you sign up for the waitlist or an account; profile information, preferences, questions, instructions, notes, uploads, feedback, and support correspondence you choose to provide.
- Connected Google data: the information described in section 2, within the permissions you grant, together with authorization tokens used to maintain your connection. Wi does not receive your Google password.
- Assistant information: your conversations with Wi and the summaries, suggestions, inferred relationships, reminders, and searchable representations generated from your authorized data. Information derived from Google data receives the same protections as the source data under this policy.
- Action information: instructions, permissions, selected recipients and resources, automation settings, and records of actions Wi attempts or completes for you. Where an action involves Google data, its content and derived records receive the same Google data protections.
- Transaction information: where a booking or purchase feature is available and you authorize it, the service or item requested, price, necessary contact or delivery details, and transaction results. Before requesting payment information, we explain how it will be handled and which merchant or payment provider will receive it.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, request timestamps, service activity, and diagnostic or security records needed to deliver and protect the service. We minimize personal information in these records.
2. Connected services, permissions, and actions
Wi uses Google OAuth to request permission. Connecting Google is optional. We request access in context, explain the data use and AI processing before you consent, and request only the permissions needed for the features you enable. Declining a permission makes its dependent features unavailable; it does not authorize a different form of access.
Reading and taking action are separate permissions. A read-only connection lets Wi retrieve information, not change it in Google. When you enable an available action feature, Wi can request additional permissions to send or organize email, manage calendar events or contacts, or create and edit selected files. Granting a Google permission is not blanket approval for every action it technically permits.
The table describes the permissions for the integrations below as they become available. Connecting one service does not require you to enable every service. Google may display permission descriptions broader than the information a feature needs; Wi limits collection and use to the enabled features and purposes described here.

People API is the Google service used to read saved Google Contacts, not a separate permission to read everyone in your organization. Other Contacts and organization-directory access are not included in this connection. Google Docs can be read under the Drive permission above; Wi does not request a duplicate Docs permission for the same access.

These are feature-specific alternatives and additions, not a request for every permission at signup. Wi requests the smallest set needed for an available feature and avoids redundant permissions where a granted scope already covers the operation.
Autonomous actions. When an agent feature is available, you can authorize Wi to carry out a task or a defined automation using your connected services. We explain the action, information used or shared, and relevant controls and obtain the required confirmation before execution. Wi must stay within the task and permissions you authorize; an instruction found inside an email or document is not your authorization. You can withdraw authorization for future actions, although completed actions may not be reversible.
Wi stores context for your enabled features. When you enable these features, Wi saves necessary copies of your Gmail messages, calendar events, and contacts in its own systems to provide search, summaries, reminders, and context over time. For Drive and Docs, Wi may retain relevant file metadata, extracted content, summaries, and search representations needed for the document features you enable.
Wi may refresh enabled connections in the background. These copies and the information derived from them remain subject to the use, security, and deletion limits below. Permission to read a mailbox or Drive is broader than a particular search; filtering what Wi retrieves does not change the underlying Google permission. We do not request access for unrelated or unreleased features.
3. How we use information
We use information you provide and technical information to operate your account, deliver requested features, respond to support requests, send service communications and requested waitlist updates, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.
We also use eligible non-Google information to evaluate and improve Wi’s features and AI models, subject to the training choices and exclusions in section 5. This separate use does not apply to Google data or information derived from it.
We use Google data and information derived from it only to provide or improve the appropriate, visible features described above for you, and for the limited security and legal purposes allowed by Google’s policies. We do not combine different users’ Google data to create shared profiles, a public people directory, or datasets for others.
4. Google API Limited Use commitment
Wi complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, in its use and transfer of information received from Google APIs. Wi also follows the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy. These protections apply to raw data and derived information, including summaries, inferences, and embeddings (representations used to retrieve relevant information).
- We do not sell, rent, or transfer Google data to data brokers, information resellers, or advertising platforms.
- We do not use Google data for advertising, retargeting, or personalized or interest-based ads.
- We do not use Google data to assess creditworthiness or eligibility for lending, or to make decisions about employment, housing, insurance, or other significant legal rights.
- We do not use or transfer Google data to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or improve AI or machine learning models, including models personalized for an individual user.
Only the transfers and human access described in sections 5 and 6 are permitted. A general content license, acceptance of our terms, or a change of company ownership does not override these restrictions. We require our personnel, service providers, and successors to follow them.
5. AI processing and service providers
To generate assistance, Wi processes your questions and the relevant portions of your authorized email, calendar, contact, and document information. This can include message text, event descriptions, names, contact details, and relevant file excerpts. We send only the context needed for the requested or enabled feature. Outputs may include inferences about commitments, priorities, or relationships; these can be inaccurate and are provided for your review.
Wi uses the following providers as needed for the service. A provider receives only the information necessary for its role, subject to applicable contractual confidentiality, security, purpose, and deletion restrictions.
- Google (Google Cloud), Railway, Supabase, and Amazon Web Services (AWS): application hosting, databases, storage, and supporting infrastructure. Depending on the component hosted, they may process account information, connected data, assistant data, and technical records.
- Wi-managed open-source models, such as Qwen: inference operated by Wi on its hosting infrastructure. Using these model weights does not itself send your data to the model publisher. The Google-data training exclusion applies to these models too.
- Anthropic and OpenAI: generating assistant responses through their commercial APIs using relevant questions and context. They may process Google data only to deliver the disclosed feature with your consent and under terms that prohibit model training with that data.
- Google: delivery of service email, such as requested waitlist confirmations, account notices, and support replies, using your email address and the communication content. These emails are sent from Wi’s service account; this does not require permission to send from your connected Gmail account.
Training choices and excluded data
Eligible non-Google data. Subject to applicable law and your choices, Wi may use conversations you initiate, feedback, uploaded materials, and service interaction records to evaluate, train, and fine-tune the models that power Wi. Information is eligible only if Wi has the necessary rights to use it, its source permits that use, and it contains no excluded data. We may use contracted processors and authorized reviewers for this work under confidentiality and purpose restrictions, not to build their own independent training datasets.
Google data is excluded. Data received through Google APIs, and anything derived from it, is not used for model training, fine-tuning, model evaluation, or model improvement. This includes messages, contacts, calendar events, files, summaries, embeddings, agent action records, and aggregated or anonymized versions. Copying that information into a chat, upload, feedback report, or another system does not remove the restriction. Where a record mixes eligible data with Google data and cannot be reliably separated, we exclude the whole record. Google context may still be used to generate your response or perform an authorized action without training a model.
Passwords, authorization tokens, payment credentials, and information collected solely for waitlist signup, account security, or privacy requests are also excluded from training. We do not use a safety-review exception to train on Google data or override a training opt-out.
Your choice. You can opt out of use of eligible data for model training, fine-tuning, and model evaluation by emailing [email protected] from your account address. We apply the request to future training use, remove your eligible content from pending training datasets, and confirm completion. You may continue to use Wi; processing needed to provide the service is separate from model training. Opting out does not automatically reverse training already lawfully completed; your applicable privacy rights still apply.
Where prior consent is required, training stays off until you give it. We will not start training on information previously collected under a no-training promise merely because this policy changes; a new, separate authorization and a lawful basis are required. Google data remains excluded regardless of any training choice.
AI-provider retention. Wi will send Google content to an external AI provider only through a configuration and agreement verified to prohibit training and provide zero data retention for that content. Zero data retention refers to provider storage of prompts and responses after processing; it does not mean that Wi stores no chat history or connected data. Necessary transient processing and narrowly applicable legal or security exceptions remain subject to Google’s Limited Use restrictions. A provider, model, or feature that cannot meet these conditions will not receive Google content.
This is a condition for enabling an external AI route, not a statement that every listed provider or API configuration offers zero retention. We explain the providers and processing applicable to your enabled feature before you authorize external AI processing. You may decline or withdraw that authorization by disconnecting the relevant connection or contacting support; features that depend on this processing will stop. Your data is not automatically shared with every listed AI provider.
6. Other disclosures and human access
We do not sell personal information or share it for others’ marketing. When you authorize an action, Wi may disclose the necessary information to its intended recipient or connected service, such as an email recipient, meeting attendee, or a merchant, booking service, or payment provider involved in an expressly authorized transaction. Google data may be shared this way only for a disclosed, visible feature with your consent and within Limited Use. Beyond those actions and the consented service-provider processing above, Google data may be transferred only where necessary for security, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale after obtaining your explicit prior consent. Other personal information may be disclosed for those legitimate purposes, subject to applicable law and this policy.
Wi personnel and providers may not routinely read your Google data. Human access is limited to:
- Your documented, explicit agreement to view specific information, such as an item you identify for a support investigation.
- Necessary security investigations, such as a security bug or abuse.
- Compliance with applicable law.
- Aggregated and anonymized information, including derivations, used for internal operations in accordance with applicable law.
These exceptions do not permit general human review of Google data for AI training or quality labeling. Providing feedback does not authorize unrelated review of your connected account.
7. Storage and security
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit and at rest, restricted access to production systems, and protection of authorization credentials. We limit access to authorized personnel and service providers with a need to perform their assigned function. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Agent actions can send information to others or change records in connected services. Review the permissions, recipients, and task details you authorize. Wi can make mistakes, and completed messages, invitations, or other actions may not be recoverable.
Wi is a United States company. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Applicable protections may differ from those in your location. Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms, such as approved standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Saving connected information is not permission to keep an unrestricted permanent archive. We limit stored content to enabled features and comply with applicable Google API storage and caching restrictions. Retention depends on the feature you use, whether your account and connection remain active, your deletion requests, and any applicable legal obligation.
- Connected Google data and derived information: retained only as needed for your enabled features while connected. When you disconnect through Wi, request deletion, or we learn that access has been revoked, we stop further collection and assistant use of that connection’s stored information and delete it without undue delay. This covers saved messages, events, contacts, file content, and metadata, along with associated summaries, inferences, embeddings, search indexes, caches, and queued processing copies. Disconnecting is not permission to keep generating answers from a retained copy.
- Authorization tokens: used only to maintain an authorized connection. We remove stored tokens when the connection is disconnected or revoked and revoke authorization with Google when you disconnect through Wi.
- Wi account and chat history: retained to provide your account and saved conversations until you delete them or request account deletion. Google-derived content in those conversations remains subject to connection deletion; it is not kept as an exception merely because it appears in a chat.
- Eligible training data: retained only for the model-development purposes described in section 5. A training opt-out or deletion request removes eligible content from pending training datasets and stops future training use. This does not authorize retaining deleted source records indefinitely or using excluded Google data.
- Waitlist and support records: retained to manage your request or waitlist participation, then deleted when no longer needed. You can ask to leave the waitlist at any time. We retain only a minimal suppression record where needed to honor an opt-out.
- Backups: deleted information may remain in restricted recovery backups until those backups expire through their scheduled cycle. It is not available for normal service use, and deletion is reapplied if a backup is restored.
- Required records: limited information may be retained when necessary for legal compliance or security. Such retention does not authorize continued assistant use, marketing, or model training with deleted Google data. We delete the retained information when the reason for retention ends.
External AI processing follows section 5. You can contact support for the status of a deletion request, including any remaining backup or required retention.
9. Disconnect Google or delete your data
You can remove Wi’s access through your Google Account’s third-party connections: select Wi and remove its access. Google revocation prevents further authorized API access; it does not by itself erase information previously copied to Wi. We apply the deletion process in section 8 when we receive or detect the revocation.
To stop future agent actions, disconnect through Wi, delete connected data, delete your Wi account, or remove your waitlist information, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account and describe your request. We may ask for proportionate identity verification to prevent unauthorized deletion. Do not send your Google password or access tokens. We confirm the outcome and explain any lawful retention exception.
Deleting data from Wi does not delete the original messages, events, contacts, or files in Google. Reconnecting later requires authorization and may import data again for the features you enable.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of your personal information, and withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a request decision or complain to a privacy regulator. We respond within the period required by applicable law and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide the service under our agreement, with your consent for optional connections and processing, for legitimate interests such as service security where appropriate, or to comply with law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
For requests or privacy grievances, contact [email protected]. Applicable mandatory rights take precedence over this policy and our terms.
11. Website technologies and communications
We do not use Google data for ads or operate advertising pixels on this website. The website loads fonts from Google and may load supporting libraries from content delivery networks. Those services receive technical request information, such as your IP address, when your browser requests their files. Our hosting services may also keep request and security logs.
Any session or preference storage is used to operate the service. If we introduce optional analytics or other nonessential tracking that requires consent, we will disclose it and obtain that consent first. You may opt out of waitlist or optional updates by contacting support; necessary account and security notices may still be sent.
12. Age requirement
Wi is intended for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact support if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and take appropriate deletion action.
13. Changes and contact
We update the dates above when this policy changes. We give notice of material changes before they take effect, through the service or by email where available, and obtain new consent before using Google data for a new purpose or sharing it in a newly disclosed way. We will not use consent or a policy update to permit a use Google prohibits.
Descriptions of planned actions or training do not enable those features or grant new permissions. Before introducing a feature or changing how data is used, we provide the relevant disclosures, controls, and required consent, and complete any required Google verification. Existing restrictions continue to apply until that process is complete.
